This sounds interesting, looking forward to the potential responses. My GT is also Hot Tamale.

 

I looked in the service manual and they do not mention anything about removing the badge piece in the grille removal section. I ended up wrapping my badge in black satin to match the hood and roof. I was not a fan of the Rudolph nose with my gold paint.

 

They are pressed into place. Probably not getting them out without parts made to release them while the front cover is off the car . Or paint them with touch up kit , maybe model paint .

 

I got them out. Removed the hood latch mount and then used a screwdriver to push down on the clips that held them in. They would not come out still because they had double sided tape on the backside of them. But they’re out now. Deciding on paint matching or satin black now.

 

Nice job. That is good to know. I will try to pull mine and just paint them satin.
