Brake squeal

My understanding is that the brake squeal is normal and does go away once the brakes are warmed, although if it's getting worse then it might be worth having it looked at. I recall someone else asking the same question here and being told it was normal, though I can't find the post so I might be misremembering.

It sounds like that hill is a great spot for max recharge though.

I had a Charger Scat Pack with the six-piston Brembos and they squealed. It was nothing to be concerned about and was just a consequence of the stock brake pads.

But, if no one else here or on the Facebook group has reported brake squeal and it's something that you're concerned about then I agree with Gia and you should have it looked at before it causes further damage. Now is the time when dealers and Dodge are documenting issues, so now is also the best time to have something inspected.

You're fortunate to not have dealt with it before but it happens frequently with large performance brakes and has occurred on everything from AMGs to Infinitis. Porsche even made a video addressing the sound because it's so common. It happens more frequently when the brakes are cold and therefore goes away after driving. It's sometimes due to the texture of the brake pad itself (which is why changing them solves the issue) but is otherwise normal on some cars.

For the record, I am not suggesting that the source of the sound is one thing or another, I'm just presenting a possible answer to the question. It's very possible that something else is wrong with the car and if the bedding process doesn't help then you should have it looked at just to be safe. R/Ts are few and far between right now and presumably offer a different brake package than the GT due to the extra weight, so finding help here is going to be difficult until more people drive the car.

Be sure to keep us updated as every post like this helps this early on in the lifecycle.

I'd wrap mine with PPF if I had the money. The paint on these cars looks great. I guess it helps that they're being produced by an Alfa factory rather than a Dodge factory.
